Description of the holiday cottage
Corran Lighthouse Lodge is situated on the shoreline of Loch Linnhe, a beautiful tidal sea loch on the West Coast of Scotland. From the Lodge there are fabulous views down Loch Linnhe across to the magnificent Glencoe mountain range and Ben Nevis. Corran lighthouse was built in 1860 Thomas and David Stevenson, father and uncle to Robert Louis Stevenson. It is still working, albeit without the fog horn! It is run by the Northern Lighthouse Board. The Lodge is converted from the original lighthouse keepers' cottages into luxurious holiday accommodation providing 5 double or twin en-suite bedrooms, a large elegant lounge with wood burning stove and a charming country kitchen. The large private walled garden is perfect for barbecues and has direct access to the beach. There are excellent amenities in the village of Ardgour and nearby Fort William.Best Features
Corran Lighthouse Lodge has everything you need for a wonderful holiday!
The elegant living room, with fabulous views down Loch Linnhe, is the ideal place to relax. With a wood-burning stove and four comfy sofas, it is cosy in the evenings as it is bright and airy through the day.
The kitchen is full of character and has a full range of appliances, including a four-ring oil Aga, electric cooker and oven. Adjoining is a spacious dining room which seats 10. A utility room at the entrance to the property has an American fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, there is plenty of room to store walking boots and coats.
For children, the spacious area between the entrance and the kitchen has been converted into a play area, with bean bags, TV, DVD player and games.
The lodge sleeps upto 10 in five en-suite bedrooms. Two bedrooms downstairs one with en-suite shower and one with en-suite bath. The bedroom nearest the front door is a double, all other bedrooms can be super kingsize or twins. The three bedrooms upstairs all have en-suite showers.
A small reading room upstairs allows for a quiet space to escape.
The Lodge is enclosed by a walled garden with an elevated decking area with views down the Loch and there is direct access to the beach. Adjacent is another walled garden with a large grassy area for outdoor games. Guests are welcome to use the barbecue and summer patio furniture.

Cottage Review:
We loved this place . Beautifully furnished, fabulous setting and really warm and cosy. Loads of space and we loved the Aga in the kitchen . Huge welcome hamper ,even fresh flowers. Spotlessly clean. Can't wait to return! |
