| Cottage Review:
Cottage is in a good location for all Ambleside shops, restaurants, bus stop, but what is not made clear is that the entrance is shared with various workshops, e.g timber merchants, so be prepared to be woken up early and have to squeeze past vans etc. The cottage is small but has a decent amount of cupboard / storage space and pretty well equipped. Note that the washer dryer is not in the cottage but in an outhouse which is difficult to get to, due to uneven paving and full of cobwebs. We stayed in the hottest week of the year, so kept bedroom windows open at night, but little air flowed through so were melting all week. Suggest taking a fan in hot weather. Few bits desperately in need of improving, bathroom lock really difficult, and whilst mostly clean, needs more attention to shower control, hose etc which had black dirt falling off it. Would recommend for anyone wanting to use purely as a base, but not for anyone who struggles with uneven cobbles / patios or stairs or wants to spend time relaxing at the cottage. |
