Having used Sykes 5 times in 4 months I usually have nothing not but praise.However, when things go wrong they don't really help.We faced multiple issues on check in and paid to move elsewhere. Sykes have therefore had our money twice. The owner of the first property refused to release the money despite;Oil leak on Oven - cover off and kitchen roll underneathRattling doors (don't close properly) and windows - some window locks are that loose they'd fall off.Front door doesn't close unless you lock it upwardsFilthy - Months worth of food in placesMisted Up Windows you can't see out ofFilthy pain strayed wardrobesHairs in the BedCheese in the living carpet near fireHuge Toenails inbedded in the carpet which;One of our dogs stood on and has cut her paw pad. One of said toenail left on fireplace for when they get a deep clean done.Sykes the agency claim all of this was fixable in a short time and we should have stayed. Personally, I think it's a disgrace.The owner had an opportunity prior to us arriving to get it ready properly. The failed. The owners had an opportunity to advise that it had defects - they failed again. Sykes had an opportunity to fix the matter. Sykes failed and didn't provide a service to a paying customer who without, they wouldn't have a business. Disgusting. The property in general looks like it needs TLC. The garden wall is bare breezeblock. Uninviting. The gate doesn't close unless you use a brick. The smell of the place is what got us. It is like an old people's home mixed with damp and / or fumes from oil. It still remains in our throat now.Maybe the glowing reviews are from people who overlook cleanliness and basic standards. For us though, whilst we are NOT snobs - we couldn't even manage one night. We moved and found a lovely place up the road.
