Garden cottage, Cilthrew Farmhouse, Kerry, Newtown, Powys, SY16 4PF

We were a party of 8 staying in garden cottage for a mixed age group celebrating a 70th birthday along with 2 dogs. We could not have wished for a better week the owners are a very hospitable couple who could not do enough for us. Whenever we asked for logs there were there immediately along with kindling although the cottage was extremely warm we wanted a fire in the evening for ambiance. The hot tub was always ready and the facilities in the cottage kitchen, bathrooms, lounge and bedrooms was excellent very clean and ample utensils. They were COVID compliant and were strict about this, we felt secure and had trust in the owners. We took a lot of items with us as previous let?s we?re short but didn?t need them here. The owners took towels which we used for the hot tub from us to tumble dry and we had a delicious supply of free range eggs supplied by the owners son. We were shown some beautiful walks to follow by them and given lots of information about where to eat and visit, they even offered to collect us from the local so we could all have a celebration drink. The fishing in the ponds was so relaxing, we could not fault it and with definitely be returning as soon as we are allowed a real home from home.

Stayed in October and had a fantastic weekend with friends - owners could not be more helpful - would recommend without hesitation. We are looking forward to a return visit soon

In brief, The worst experience ever. We left after two nights despite booking for seven. Our son stayed the day and left immediately. Serious concerns especially with Coronavirus compliance. Sykes cottages and owners refuse any financial remuneration. We strongly advice accepting a full refund is on this property from Sykes while you can or rebook elsewhere. Just return from a lovely week staying in the Garden cottage. Fantastic hot tub, fishing ponds and woodland to explore. Especially great for our children as lots to do without having to leave the cottage! Would highly recommend.

We stayed here with 6 friends for a long weekend. The cottage was stunning, rustic but extremely comfortable with plenty of room for 8 adults. Really cosy with the log burner. The bedrooms were spacious and again beds very comfortable. The cottage is set in lovely grounds and the hot tub was a bonus. Wendy and family were wonderful hosts and couldn?t do enough for us. The fresh eggs, and sausages were the best we?ve had in a long time and we even purchased some of they?re own reared pork. Looking forward to our return visit..would definitely recommend..th
