| Cottage Review:
Don't know where to start... Cottage? No, it's basically a ground floor flat in a row of terraced houses. Seems to be an ex pontins chalet or something along those lines. Cheap and cheerful is one thing, but when you can't tell which is the hot or cold tap, the fridge is dirty and freezer is iced up, when the bedroom furniture is damaged with doors hanging off or removed, it leaves you wondering precisely what you'd paid for. I think the crux came when my wife went for a wee and became locked in the bathroom. Lucky I was there to free her! The online brochure gave us a rather distorted impression that this was a separate, stand alone cottage near the beach. While it is near the beach, it is basically a flat in a block of maisonettes. If you go to the beach via the rather pleasant labyrinth of pathways through the scrub, beware the dog poo. It appears the usual tenants find it far below themselves to tidy up after their dogs. In fact the local beach is unfortunately very littered with dog faeces. In short, - Worn, damaged kitchen appliances - Broken bedroom furniture - TV repeatedly turns itself off then back on again - lounge furniture doesn't smell at all fresh. - bathroom door tends to lock you in. All great if you don't mind the 'end-of-term-student-style-digs', But we definitely won't be returning. |
