Description of the holiday cottage

The Old Malthouse is a recently refurbished self-catering holiday cottage situated in the heart of the idyllic Somerset village of Monksilver, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. It makes the perfect base from which to explore Exmoor, before returning at the end of the day to find oneself just a few moments from the the highly esteemed Notley Arms public house and restaurant. With a variety of designated footpaths passing close to the property (including the famous Coleridge Way), this is a truly terrific location for walking enthusiasts. In fact, anyone keen to get out and enjoy the great outdoors will find an abundance of local activities including some of the best horse-riding in the country, and being situated just 3 miles from the coast, there are many beaches in the area allowing for swimming, kite flying, or windsurfing.

• 3 first floor bedrooms (two doubles, both with built-in wardrobes, and one single)

• Ground floor sitting room with large inglenook fireplace with wood-burner and 32” LED TV with built-in DVD player

• Modern ground floor kitchen/dining area, well fitted with halogen hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle, and toaster, plus full complement of saucepans, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery, and glasses

• First floor bathroom with bath, powerful “rainfall” shower, toilet, hand basin, large heated towel rail, and illuminated mirror

• Wifi, electricity, and electric storage heating (with individually adjustable radiators) included in price

• Bed linen, duvets, blankets, and towels provided. (Please bring own beach towels for day trips)

• Up to two dogs welcome (supplement of £15 per dog)

• Check-in from 4pm, check-out by 10am
