Overall Otter lodge is great but there are a few things that need to be addressed . At the amount mr family paid for Christmas made the problems more acceptable, but we’ve noticed the prices for this year 2023 Christmas week have shot up, so this is why I feel the need to draw attention to the many issues Otter lodge and Red Deer lodge have. Firstly both cottages appliances need to be overhauled . Neither of the oven temperatures are correct we found you have to turn up the temperature setting to maximum just to cook at a normal heat . Otter lodge : fridge freezer , fridge the hood get wet sitting on the shelves . The shower upstairs bathroom is unusable as it’s screwed on the holder sideways so you have to use as a hand shower only which is also pretty useless as no pressure . A power shower is needed!!! . The cottage is listed as sleeping 6 -8 but not enough seating ie sofas for 6-8 . Lastly you advertise as having Wi-Fi . Otter Lodge has zero Wi-Fi and red deer lodge very little . All these problems are small things that need to be addressed. To escalate the prices to the level you now have I would expect everything to be working to a suitable standard . Lastly one if the saucepans still had food stuck to it and some of the crockery . Red deer lodge on the last day my daughters clothes got stuck in the washing machine as it wouldn’t spin. They eventually manage to get the door open. Both theses cottages were our Christmas break. I don’t think we should have the stress of ovens not working etc . Overall the cottages are in a good position although not near to aviemore town , which is fine. But only ok if you have a vehicle suitable incase it snows heavily as about a five mile drive to town . At 2023 prices probably wouldn’t book
