| Cottage Review:
We have just returned from a very enjoyable week's stay in this idyllic cottage - perfect for a couple with a little dog. The cottage is charming with great views and has its own private, enclosed lawn area - perfect for our (4-legged) Boy, Charlie.. The owners were very helpful; they have put a lot of thought into making their guests welcome with lots of delightful little extras. We were particularly taken by the Hotel Chocolat truffles on each of our pillows! There are lots of good eating places close by and we particularly recommend the legendary luncheon buffet at Old Bridge Inn in Priest Lane at Ripponden. Although it was a winter break for us, we enjoyed every day of our stay - visiting Hebden Bridge, Halifax's magnificent Piece Hall, Shibden Hall grounds & café (the Hall was itself closed till March but it's still well worth walking around the grounds). We enjoyed a morning matinee at the wonderful old Rex Cinema in Elland. And we also saw so many of the locations featured in the BBC's 'Happy Valley' drama serial! Most evenings we were just so happy to relax in our warm and cosy Prospect Cottage. And our ageing little dog Charlie enjoyed it just as much as us! We heartily recommend this cottage. |
