Cottage Review:
A lovely place to stay. With a fantastic view over the gouge the Drill House offers a very good base to visit the Coalbrookdale area. The cottage has every thing you will need to have a comfortable stay. We managed to park outside the cottage, in a little space near a public footpath, however DO NOT try to drive any further (with the cottage to your right) as get narrower and narrower , to the point that most vehicles will not get through. ( we found out the hard way, the air was blue) . We explored the local pubs ,the Coracle Micro Bar serves some very good craft beers . Over the bridge and left with a mile walk takes you to Jackfield , the Black Swan is a nice pub with a lovely beer garden by the river. Bridge View Cafe , does a lovely cup of coffee ( flat whites are good) and the Breakfasts are very nice. The chippy is cracking, managed to sneak in after a few in the Coracle, just before they closed , a massive portion of chips , 4 big sausages and a big pot of curry sauce for 7 quid. Further afield, Brignorth is worth a visit. Bewdley is a nice town. Ludlow is also very nice and the micro brewery should not be missed , |
