Description of the cottage holiday
Our Grade II listed stone barn is deceptively light and spacious. It sleeps 6 plus cot in 3 double bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size hand carved four poster and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom upstairs has twin beds and en-suite bathroom, and downstairs there is a third twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. A farmhouse kitchen with large island breakfast bar is separated from the open plan sitting room by the staircase leading to gallery landing. From the sitting room a door leads outside to an enclosed private courtyard garden, with picnic bench for al-fresco dining.Best Features
Situated on a 17th century working farm our self-catering cottages in Dorset have been carefully restored from an old barn and farm buildings. They comprise a barn conversion and four cottages, along with stable and a games room, surrounding a courtyard featuring a rill culminating in a small wildlife pond. The cottages are finished to a high standard, suitable for year round occupancy, and furnished with all the required facilities for daily living. The setting is very peaceful, being in a valley amongst the rolling hills of West Dorset, yet only a short distance to the village with its local amenities of shop, post office and pub. There is plenty to do in the area, including walks from the door, to visits to stately homes, gardens, exploring the Jurassic coast and the many historic towns and villages.

We spent a long weekend in the Barn and it had all and more we needed. Great that we could take all our dogs. Great pub up the lane. We will be going again and would recommend. |

| Cottage Review:
Have just spent a week in Dorset staying in Threshers Barn. The location was perfect as you could visit places in Dorset, Somerset and Devon with ease. The cottage was extremely spacious and had very comfortable beds. It was also nice that each bedroom had an en suite. Although we only used the Games Room once it was great to have it and I'm sure we would have made more use of it if the weather had been bad. There was a lovely pub within walking distance (The Admiral Hood) serving excellent food - definitely worth a visit. |

we find it very hard to find a place that would take more then 2 dogs. and when we found somewhere that would take more than 2 dogs and be a quiet place to relax it was very rewarding. baker mill is a lovely place to stay and i have been going every year for the last to years. the cottage is always very clean and ready for you when you get there.we liked that you could walk to the nearest shop or pub but wasnt too close to the noises from the village. the dogs love it and so do we. |
