Be aware they may cancel your booking with no consideration or attempt to care or compensate for your loss of holiday. We have booked the same cottage (Bowleaze View - Bowleaze Cove / Weymouth 994020 ) for the past 3 years in a row for our holiday and to see elderly parents who live there but can?t accommodate us anymore. We booked it straight away for the next year and paid the deposit immediately. Sykes Cottages (as instructed by the owners) called to say they had to cancel our booking due to ?works being done? at the house during our week. During this phone call we looked on line and could have booked the same house for the same week but for £900 more.

They blatantly lied to cancel their contract with us to get more money somewhere else and don?t care at all about the fact they lied to our face over the phone or that we no longer have our annual holiday. We are now left with no venue for a holiday and now everywhere will be booked. The sea view is only to one side of the house and will literally be gone by summer 2024 unless the neighbour cuts their hedges?.AVOID basically. Other cheaper nicer properties available in the same area.

We have been going to this house for three years in a row and prebooked in July for next August 2024 even before we stayed in August 2023. It?s been a bit of a tradition for my ASD child so we could be sure to get the same house near my elderly mother. But in September 2023 we were mysteriously cancelled so they could do ?repairs?. Turns out the house is still available for the week we were cancelled but at a new price nearly £1000 more! So beware, our returning loyalty and late cancellation (for Dorset you need to book a year in advance at least!) counted for nothing and the owners don?t care that we now have no holiday. Just hope everyone else baulks at the new hiked up price and goes abroad so that it?s now empty for our week as we certainly will never be returning!
