Weymouth is famous for its gorgeous Georgian seafront and stunning sandy beach. The beach here is the number one attraction and it is really special, if you have never been before, think Carribean sand in the UK. The waters are crystal clear and the beach is gently sloping so it is pretty safe for swimming, ideal for younger kids and there are RNLI lifeguards. The sand is so fine though, it is really special and they also have a fantastic sand sculpture competition, you would be amazed what they can create with the sand. This is without a doubt one of the best beaches in the country! Ideal for swimming, sunbathing and paddle boarding, bring your bucket and spade for great fun.
The historic harbor is lined with colorful Victorian buildings, lots fishing boats and yachts with the odd super yacht as well. The Old Harbour is steeped in history, there are lots of really good pubs and cafes around here plus some top restauranets, inevitably serving great sea food. It's a brilliant place to sit and watch the world go by in the day time or come and sample some quality food in the evening. The town area is fantastic for shopping and a short walk from the beach and there is lots to do here from the Sealife Aquarium to the nearby Monkey Sanctuary, lots of events on the beach and boat trips.
The other gret thing about Weymouth is that there are lots of holiday lets, from traditional Victorian homes around the quay area to ultra modern luxury holiday homes overlooking the beach, traditional holiday cottages and a great range of holiday flats to enjoy. You can also find several holiday parks in Weymouth with caravans and lodges, some are amongst the best in the country! If you have never been before, we really recommend Weymouth, it is a great place for a holiday and has something for everyone, whatever your taste or age.
