
Swanage is known for its beautiful sandy beach, clear waters and Victorian buildings looking over the beach giving it a traditional British seaside feel. Swanage sits in a sheltered crescent shaped bay with gentle hills and chalk cliffs that make a stunning backdrop to the beach. The beach is gently sloping, ideal for for families with young children and for swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and snorkelling or just having some seaside fun. The beach has RNLI lifeguards as well as a punch and judy show three times a day during the summer months.
Swanage Pier is a restored Victorian pier and a focal point of the beach area, it is a popular for fishing and as a base for a boat trip to explore the coastal scenery and wildlife. The town has a great high street with independent shops, cafes and pubs, there are several really good quality restaurants here offering a mix of local seafood and classic British dishes.
