Had a delightful week in this cottage. I managed to while away many a peaceful hour reading a book on the deck overlooking the open field to the side of the house. We picked blackberries on the land too. The two local pubs are a huge tourist attraction and it was a treat to have one of them within two minutes walking distance. Whilst we supped the local cider, the kids frolicked in the stream beside the pub - happy days! The house itself was lovely, with lots of space for two families. As I recall, the bedrooms downstairs were a little damp but it didn't impact too adversely on our stay. Definitely would recommend if you want to stay in a rural place yet close to the shopping centre of Totnes.

An exceptional cottage in a wonderful location. We stayed for a week and wanted for nothing. The champagne, truffles, breakfast supplies and the lovely flowers in the lounge and bedroom were a thoughtful extra. The whirlpool bath/shower cabinet was an experience not to be missed. It was a short walk to the village where there is an excellent bistro serving very good and reasonably priced evening meals. The cottage is ideally placed for the coast, Dartmoor and other places of interest. The two resident swans on the lake were an added bonus, our only disappointment was that we were a couple of weeks too early to see their cygnets hatch!

Amazing cottage in beautiful surroundings. Rural location overlooking fields with a view of the sea from the barbecue area. 20 min stroll to slapton village where you will find a village shop and 2 pubs, we only experienced the Queens Head which was fabulous. 30 min stroll to slapton sands and slapton ley which is worth a visit. A visit to the start bay inn at torcross is a must beautiful outlook and amazing food. A 20 minute drive to Blackpool sands, although a pebble beach it has amazing views and is a lovely drive. A dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were advertised but the isolator switch was not accessible, so had to wash up!! Also due to there being no wifi and mobile phone reception I think an emergency calls only telephone is required as if an emergency arises you are unable to make a call.
