Combe Martin is a pretty beachside village on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin claims to have the longest village street in England, there are a number of small shops and a few welcoming pubs like the Dolphin Inn or the Pack o Cards. This is a great pub with a fantastic history, 13 doors and fireplaces, 4 flours and 52 stairs, all funded by a local squire winning a card game and is Greade II listed. The beach is a mix of sand and shingle, popular for kayaking, rock pooling and is very sheltered so very safe but it isn't a big beach. Easily accessible right from the centre of the village with a number of shops and cafes within a few hundred metres.
There are great coastal walks along the South West Coast Path directly from the village. It is steep but a walk up to Little Hangman will result in some of the most amazing views out towards the Bristol Channel and over Ilfracombe, it's not easy but well worth the reward. Nearby is the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park with life size animatronic dinosaurs and a few rides. Watermouth Castle is also down the road, more rides and a rich history of smuggling. There is a good selection of holiday cottages in Combe Martin, if you want a wider selection of holiday accommodation, find nearby caravan parks and holiday parks in the Combe Martin area. A great base and Ilfracombe is a short drive away with Woolacombe within easy reach.
