Exmouth has a great sandy beach stretching over two miles, this is the main draw for holiday makers to the town and with parking right behind the beach, it is really easily accessible. You can park your car and walk right onto the beach, over the small wall though! The sea here on the south Devon coast is also usually retlatively calm so it is ideal for families with young kids. There are a number of places to grab some food along the stretch behind the sea front and shops to buy your bucket and spades. The town centre is also about a five minute walk from the beach so if you need to pick up something, it is all in one area!
The beach is great for swimming, watersports like kitesurfing, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking and there is a great watersports centre where you can hire everything you need or get some lessons in whatever water sport you want to do. The town itself has a great range of independent shops, lots of cafes and takeways. This is also a pretty welcoming and lively town at night, lots of great places to eat to suit all budgets and tastes, it has a young vibe and is family friendly. Exeter is a short drive away, if you like shopping, you will love Exeter. There are a good selection of Exmouth holiday cottages here for all budgets from large Victorian homes to smaller holiday homes for couples.
