Croyde is set between Braunton and Woolacombe on the North Devon coast, it’s a popular spot for surfers as the beach has some of the best surfing conditions in the UK. Stunningly beautiful but please always swim between the flags here, there are RNLI lifeguards on patrol and there are strong rip currents when the surf is big. One of the best ways to watch the surfers is from Baggy Point, you get an amazing view and it really is totally stunning!
Croyde itself is small and famous for its thatched cottages and the great pubs like The Thatch, The Manor, Billy Buds and the Blue Groove restuarant which serves really good quality food, usually with a decent sea food dish. The village has a real surfer vibe going on, especially in the evenings where the centre of the village around Billy Buds comes alive. It's relaxed and friendly with a bit of cool ade thrown in for good measure. Take the coastal path around Baggy Point to Putsborough, that is a must. Go shopping in Braunton, a great selection of independent shops and surf shops or cycle the Tarka Trail to Barnstaple, a great trail for a bike ride. Croyde has grown and now boasts a large number of luxury holiday homes and cottages, not the cheapest place though! You can also find local Croyde holiday parks here if you get stuck, this is a very popular tourist destination in the summer!
