Bude is a great little town if you have never been before, sitting on the north coast of Cornwall near to the Devon border. It is ideal if you want to visit a friendly town with great independent shops and beaches galore, one of our favourite destinations for holidays. There are lots of little villages around Bude that have a range of holiday cottages from small Cornish cottages to larger holiday homes for groups. If you can't find the right holiday cottage, there are numerous holiday, lodge and caravan parks in Bude and the surrounding countryside.
If you want a holiday with a great selection of beaches but without the hussle and bustle of the major resorts, Bude is ideal. You can park at Summerleaze beach and Crooklets beach from the car parks near the town centre, they are great fun and have great surf. Bude also has a fantastic sea pool, it really is brilliant fun and free as well, just take your wetsuit! Bude has the full holiday and surf vibe of the other big resorts, just more of a fun and family feel about it. There are plenty of surf shops, surf schools and there is a legendary pasty shop in the town centre. There are a good selection of takeaways if you are self catering plus a Morrisons and Lidl on the outskirts of town but easy to get too. This is the perfect town for a fun packed beach based family holiday, we love it!
