Crackington Haven is a picturesque coastal village located on the north coast of Cornwall about mid-way between Bude and Tintagel in an area known for its cheese making, think Davidstow and Jacobstow! Crackington Haven is nestled between rugged cliffs and rolling Cornish countryside, the stunning natural scenery here is very beautiful and a real wildlife haven. The village is known for its small, pebbly beach backed by dramatic slate cliffs. When the sea levels drop at low tide, the beach reveals rock pools and patches of sand, making it a great spot for rock pooling and playing in the sea.
The South West Coastal Path passes through Crackington Haven and is perfect for long walks, especially if you have a dog, just to take in the scenery. Crackington Haven has a café, a pub and a local shop and the pub is located close to the beach, a great place for a drink after a day on the beach to soak in the sea air. There are a small number of holiday cottages in Crackington Haven and the surrounding villages, the area is off the beaten track so it doesn’t really get hugely busy. If you want alternative accommodation, try researching lodges and caravans on Bude holiday parks as this is the nearest major resort town. A great location if you want to get away from it all, you can really find some peace here!
